Today Tea Jagarinec is successfully running the family business started by her parents thirty years ago. For the last ten years she has been running the gold jewelry store Bijou together with her husband Dubravko. They make exclusively handmade jewelry.

Stjepan Pavlović is a renowned Zagreb goldsmith who’s been running his craft Štef since 1987 with their location being Ilica 52.

Founded in 1972, the Vuk Leather shop has become synonymous with quality and innovation in Croatia. They have been operating for a long time now outside of Zagreb as well and consequently Miljenko Vuk, the owner of the shop, is contacted on a daily basis by foreign customers, mostly from Slovenia and Austria.

Artist Vlasta Pastuović Aleksić today owns a craft involved in artistic creation and giving visual arts lessons. Her paintings and original jewellery are her means of livelihood. In addition to that, she gives group drawing and painting classes, as well as individual lessons. How did it all get started?

After 38 years Tomislav Volarić, renowned Zagreb watchmaker, has moved his small shop where he fixes all kinds of mechanical watches from downtown Zagreb to Paromlinska Street.

The watchmaker’s workshop has been operating at the same location since 1928, and the watchmaker Ivan Puzak took it over in 1981. After he had worked for the company Sat (Clock), he decided to apply the experience gained there by investing in and setting up his own business.

The legendary clockmaker’s shop was founded as far back as 1947 by Simeon Lebarović. Today it is owned by Dalibor Lebarović, the sixth clockmaker in the family.

If you go to Mlinovi 2 in Zagreb, you’ll find an unique and unusual profession. Franka Vatovac Tomičić belongs to the third generation of a family that produces handmade candles. Franka’s grandparents started the craft in 1937 and this is one the few candlemaking crafts that have managed to stay in business to this very day.

Woodwork Vouk is one of Zagreb’s oldest crafts with a tradition dating back to 1926 when it was founded by Antun Vouk. His son Dragutin then took over the business. In 1947 he opened a workshop in Križevci in addition to an existing woodwork business in Zagreb. The craft is currently headed by his son Zlatko who took over the business in 1990.

Master workshop of joinery Štefančić has successfully been running since 1938. Being one of Zagreb’s oldest joinery crafts, it boasts about making one-of-a-kind wood products.

In a craft shop that holds the traditional and artistic status certificate Mirko Mađarčević successfully makes Tiffany and stained glass, while part of the shop functions also as a gallery in which paintings are framed and furnished.

Creative Goran Maretić heads the souvenir maker section at the Zagreb Craftsmen Association. He makes miniatures in cans and they are his signature product. Goran made his first drums back in elementary school and his penchant for making ship and airplane models suggested that his love of handicraft would endure.
