Florist Rafaela Petrinić is the person behind Poppy. Enthusiastic Rafaela named her craft after the English word for her favourite flower. Poppies are famed for being gentle and robust, just like Rafaela’s craft.

The small flower shop Tea has stood in the close vicinity of the Zagreb crematory since 1993. Its owner and florist Spomenka Fabijančić after a few years of dabbling in flowers decided to start her own shop, creating in time recognizable flower designs for all occasions.

Floral shop Marijan is one of the oldest floral shops at Kvaternik Square. Marijan was encouraged by his father Nikola Vanjkorek, a well-known flower wholesale trader, to open his own shop in 1970. His wife Brankica, who had an immense contribution in business development, worked alongside him. Their daughter Ivana Završki took over the family business in mid-2016.

The creative shoemaking shop Valek has been successfully doing business in Ilica Street, Zagreb, previously bringing joy to adults and today to the little ones. The Valek Shoes story begins back in 1963, when Valentin Tkalčec opened a shoemaking shop and named it after his childhood nickname

Very few people can say that there’s something that makes them unique in Croatia or Europe for that matter, but comb producer Antun Penezić can. Although he’s well over 80 years old, this vital and cheerful craftsman still speaks passionately about his comb production.

Craftsman Mirko Golub founded the cooperage workshop “Golub” in 1962 in Jastrebarsko. Today the workshop is headed by the second generation which has successfully combined traditional knowledge with new ideas and technology to make wooden barrels with a distinctive quality to them and other wooden utensils with the aim of obtaining the most natural and best wines that age in them.

Dominique Jurić, an academically trained painter, is the only person in Croatia who specializes in stained glass manufacture, and, in addition to this, is the only person who graduated from the stained glass module at the Academy of Fine Arts. She inherited the Staklić Art Glass Atelier from her father, who had worked with glass since 1955, and who founded Staklić Crafts in 1984. Today, the atelier is run by Dominique.

An atelier in the very heart of the city is not only a business but also a beautiful art space which, once you find yourself there, you will never want to leave. The atelier has been doing business at the same address since 1919. At first it specialized in crystal cutting and chandelier making, and after World War II it expanded the range of its services to include picture frame making.

As a completely self-taught blacksmith with a penchant for iron, Igor Panković set up his shop in 2006. In the Arteferrum workshop he forges metal in a traditional way, using it to make modern articles.

In 1991, after years of training and dedicated work, Anita Zannotti Štulec started her own business, A shoo, specializing in the making of high quality handmade shoes. She inherited her love of handwork from her parents, who were shoemakers themselves, and today the whole family is involved in the craft business.
