Glaziers and framers

Martina Šimunković is a graduate of art history and ethnology but engaged in the production of fancy glass ornaments. She continued to work in the family glass ornaments workshop and studio where for over 60 years, hand-blown glass ornaments have been made. As a third-generation of glassblowers, she has learned the knowledge from her father Josip Križanić who taught her the art of glass blowing. She is a founder of Koogle.

Craft Katarina is involved in making glass balls and Christmas tree ornaments made from glass. It’s currently being run by Petra Krhen Antonić, whose parents started the production about thirty years ago as a hobby that eventually turned from a small workshop into a full-blown craft.

Painter and entrepreneur Lidija Lovreković opened a craft in her native Ivanić Grad in 2006 after a number of years doing artistic creation.

In a craft shop that holds the traditional and artistic status certificate Mirko Mađarčević successfully makes Tiffany and stained glass, while part of the shop functions also as a gallery in which paintings are framed and furnished.

The enterprising and innovative Silva Krajačić is the one who founded craft SRČEKO. She decided to make souvenirs to earn a living and the she founded the craft in 2003 in Samobor.

The roots of craft SAKI, which stands for „samoborski kristal“ (Samobor crystal) date back to 1980. This was a household business at first and in 1990 it became a firm, while in 1999 it acquired craft status.

Photographer Anđelko Topić started the Topić family craft. In 1941 he moved to Zagreb from Omiš. The photo studio was originally located in Maksimirska Street. His son Anđelko took over the craft.

Dominique Jurić, an academically trained painter, is the only person in Croatia who specializes in stained glass manufacture, and, in addition to this, is the only person who graduated from the stained glass module at the Academy of Fine Arts. She inherited the Staklić Art Glass Atelier from her father, who had worked with glass since 1955, and who founded Staklić Crafts in 1984. Today, the atelier is run by Dominique.

An atelier in the very heart of the city is not only a business but also a beautiful art space which, once you find yourself there, you will never want to leave. The atelier has been doing business at the same address since 1919. At first it specialized in crystal cutting and chandelier making, and after World War II it expanded the range of its services to include picture frame making.
