In times of health and economic crisis, leisurely downtown shopping seems light years away. Today, we usually buy online, reclining in armchairs, products that we do not try, touch or even see properly before buying. But even before the pandemic days, we have known such trends – webshops, large shopping malls and mass production of low quality. What’s more, we’re used to it, not questioning too much what we buy or how long it will last.
The #letsbuyhandicraft campaign seeks to remind of the value of the craft product, as well as to promote unique Zagreb crafts. Last winter the campaign was launched and accompanied by billboards all over the city as well as promotional videos, and this spring it is coming back in a big way. Namely, in a new promo video actors Anica Kovačević and Đorđe Kukuljica embodied the people of Zagreb who, while walking through the city, greet craftsmen and visit local craft shops.
The video promotes craft products, such as designer clothing, but also services – such as taxi services and hairdressing services. In addition, it promotes the beauties of Zagreb, whose center has been home to the beautiful craft shops for decades!
