Trampoline exercises have developed throughout history. It is thought that it was the Inuit who came up with tossing into air using an additional prop. They would play and toss each other into air with the help of suspended seal skin they would hold at the ends with their hands.

Gymnasts George Nissen and Larry Griswold were impressed as they were watching circus artists using a tight net to bounce off it and perform acrobatic elements and in 1934 they devised the first trampoline as we know it today. The device’s name comes from the Spanish trampolín, meaning a diving board. It wasn’t long before the army came to see the device’s usefulness so they developed the use of trampoline in its training of military pilots during World War II.
