For a dream wedding, besides your beloved partner, you should be satisfied with your own look as well. A lot of time is devoted to choosing of your dress, suit, clothes in general and shoes. If you do not like ready-made clothes and you want to be unique and have a tailored suit or shoes that do not bother your feet, we have a perfect solution for you.
Gloria Shoemaker Craft“ specialises in all kinds of women’s footwear, and mostly work by orders.
“We have shoes and sandals for the wedding in our assortment. Women love shoes, and most brides on the day of their weddings want to be unique and original. In Zagreb, the shoe selection is exceptionally large, but if someone wants to have shoes that nobody else has, then it is best to order tailored shoes”, explains Svetlana Bursać, the owner of the shoe company ‘Gloria’.
Bursać points out that when ordering the most important is the design, then the colour that needs to be matched with the colour of the wedding dress, and sometimes with other details like flowers, ornaments on the table, invitations.
“Brides mostly choose white, beige, silver, or gold shoes, and those of them who are a little bit more creative can opt for red, green or blue shoes. The heel height depends on the height of the bride and the groom, on how long is the wedding dress, whether the shoes will be visible or under the dress and not seen, whether they want to be in the same shoes the whole night or if they will serve only for the photo session. The crucial role of heel height plays the comfort. Most brides decide on comfort, meaning not to exaggerate with heel height”, explains Bursać and reveals that if you want comfortable shoes, the heel should not be more than 8 cm. “Most brides choose heights of 6 or 7 cm in height and can hold them all night, and besides these shoes can be worn later on for some other special occasions. So, when all the visual criteria are met, the most important is the comfort”, concludes Bursać. In the shoe company “Gloria” wedding shoes need to be ordered three weeks in advance.
For two generations, more precisely since 1973, the tailor company ‘Jura’ has been successfully operating in the wider centre of Zagreb. Tomislav Kuna, the workshop leader, says that tailored suits are more and more sought after lately, especially for the weddings. “The suit should be ordered about a month earlier, and everything begins with taking measures, then selecting the material and the model. Clients can bring their own material if they want. Two trials of the suit are carried out and the suit is over”, describes Tomislav Kuna and continues:
“Men are increasingly recognizing the quality of unique tailored suits because not all men are same built and mostly ready-made garments don’t suit everyone. Besides, tailored suits are not much more expensive if compared with the confectionery. This year they are looking for a slim fit suit, and the vests are back in fashion. The most wanted colours are black, dark shades of grey, dark blue and discreetly stitched patterns. Cold wool is most commonly used as a material, and some ask for satin.”
Ethno boutique Mara is for women who love the combination of traditional and modern, and who cherish quality as the first choice for finding a wedding dress. Of the motifs the most famous are certainly Glagolitic and bourgeois of Baška stone that decorate their wedding dresses, dresses, handbags and other fashion accessories.
The Shoe salon “Zlatko” is specialized in making male shoes in small series or custom made. They produce models from size 38 to size 50 and use only first-class materials.
“More than 50 percent of the orders we get are for the weddings. Most demanded are black lacquered shoes, and there are always special desires that are mainly related to the materials of the shoes, such as skin of exotic animals of the snakes and crocodiles. All shoes must be ordered 7 to 10 days earlier”, the owner of the shoe company Z. Novoselic says.
