At that time he excelled in making modern women’s shoes of high quality, but after his daughter, Mirjana Tkalčec, took over the shop, she made a complete turnaround and dedicated herself to children’s shoes. Having noticed that there was a market for high quality children’s shoes, she turned to making imaginative custom-made shoes to meet the demands of parents and children.
“In our shop every child is a creator of their own shoe. We provide different kinds of material, patterns, and details, and every shoe goes through several production phases, which makes the finished shoe a truly unique handmade article,” says Mirjana Tkalčec.

Every shoe goes through different phases of the manufacturing process, from choosing materials, to choosing decorations, to pasting by hand, and to the final handcrafting of shoes according to the chosen prototype. As many as twelve employees take care of the whole process of shoemaking, each one always dedicated to keeping a high level of quality of shoes and services.
Thanks to the use of a wide range of materials in all colors with the possibility of choosing between all manner of decorations as well as to the fact that the manufacturing process is conducted entirely by hand, the customers have remained loyal over a number of years. Through the individual approach to shoemaking according to children’s measurements, the artisans at Valek Shoes make special and unique shoes.
Taught by experience and aware of the ever-growing children’s needs for orthopedic shoes, Mirjana Tkalčec has focused part of the manufacture on those who need it the most. After completing a number of training programs, the artisans at Valek Shoes also excel in making orthopedic shoes for children.
Because every child deserves shoes of high quality, Valek Shoes is dedicated to making every model imaginative and, more importantly, functional. Their plan is to open an e-shop so that they can offer their products to a greater number of customers. It is their belief that, with their uniqueness and the kind of handwork that is extremely rare nowadays, they can set themselves apart from the competition and stand out in a sea of uniform supply.
