Having finished his education and spent eight years working in the comb production business, his life took him on another path. When he retired, he remembered this interesting craft and took the decision to do everything he could in order to stop comb production from fading into oblivion. He made a collection of displays for the Ethnographic Museum and in 2006 he took up his old passion again after a string of positive feedback.
Antun makes all kinds of combs, unique jewellery, ornamental items and picks. Horns and white bone are eco materials Antun uses in his production. In addition the having health benefits, they are characterised by stunning colours. Combs are healthy, they stimulate your circulation, whereas this one-of-a-kind jewellery is pleasant to wear. Most of the tools used to make his products Antun designed and modified himself so they’re unique as well.

“The interest aroused by my handicraft and the divine material I work with are the things that have kept me in the business. Comb production keeps me fit both mentally and physically and my wife Mara Danica helps me with everything”, Antun says. He also hopes that somebody willing to take over the craft and keep the tradition he started alive will eventually turn up.
His workshop is teeming with numerous certificates and recognitions. He has also received a special recognition for restoring forgotten crafts as a showcase of Croatia’s ethnological and cultural heritage. The fact that Antun’s handicrafts are unique and designated as an original Croatian product has enabled them to found around the world. Antun has set his mind on making them as long as the circumstances are right.
