Under the auspices of craft Art Lidija Lovreković has given an artistic twist to numerous social events in Ivanić Grad thereby becoming an recognisable symbol of how to successfully run a craft in this small town near Zagreb. Officially, she’s qualified for shaping glass using the artistic techniques of fusion, Tiffany glass and stained glass, as well as pottery and Raku ware. She proudly points out that her work represented Croatia at the Academy of Fine Arts in Nuremberg.
She makes and paints reliefs, watercolour paintings, oil on canvas and painted glass, but she’s no stranger when it comes to other techniques. Notwithstanding the fact that craft started operating somewhat belatedly, Lidija has been involved in art for more than 20 years. Moreover, she has had ten independent and fifty collaborative exhibitions where her works were displayed with those of academic painters.

She makes custom-made presents for special occasions, such as sets of painted glasses, vases, paintings, messages painted on glass. In addition to that, she takes great pride in the illustrations she makes for books and picture storybooks written by local authors. As an owner of one of very few remaining crafts involved in artistic creation in Ivanić Grad, she firmly believes that art still has a place due to the fact that her knowledge in the field of artistic creation is rather comprehensive.
That’s why Lidija doesn’t back down. Quite the contrary, she draws inspiration for her unique pieces everywhere around her. Her paintings and souvenirs she designs herself have made their way to the foreign market signalling a bright future for Lidija and her work. Bearing in mind the tradition and value of her city’s historical heritage, Lidija makes watercolour paintings of Ivanić Grad thereby preserving the city’s historical depictions dating back to the 19th and 20th centuries. Making paintings and items containing precious and semi-precious stones, 18th century ornaments and historical coats of arms of Croatian cities as highly valuable souvenirs represent the pinnacle of her artistry.
