Shoemaking craft Semenčić is a proud owner of the Silver Craft Recognition for preserving and upholding tradition for more than 35 years and holds the Traditional Craft Status Certificate.
Due to increasing demand Darijo Semenčić has over time expanded his business to key making, while today he mostly does repairs. He makes less and less men’s and women’s shoes because the required raw material is rather expensive and it takes a lot of time to make a pair of shoes.

He cooperates with countless designers so he’s been making women’s shoes for Charlie Design for years, while some of the models were made for the renowned Zagreb designer Ana Maria Ricov. Once he even worked with designers from Madame Demode and together they did a couple of successful shows.
Designers recognise his handicraft, which is why they approach him with more demanding ideas. Darijo always goes the extra mile to bring their ideas to life. Classic men’s models still have their faithful clients who order custom-made shoes.
Special men’s model created by Darijo are adored by people who love the Rockabilly style… A true master is good at repairing and restoring old shoes, which is appreciated and recognised by clients. Darijo Semenčić points out that very few machines can replace handicraft which is very much an important segment of shoemaking on a daily basis. An individual approach to every assignment and keeping the tradition alive are the main things that drive him in his future work.
