She’s been employed at the craft for 27 years and took over the company in 2001. Alma is a mechanical engineer who prepared for this vital role through work, education and professional training. Two more employees work with her.

The craft’s workshop is where they make all kinds of technical springs ranging from 0.2 mm to 25 mm of wire diameter as well as spring elements ranging from 0.3 mm to 3 mm of strip thickness. They’re made from the best materials and have a wide application range. They’re used in machinery, car industry, agricultural, textile, construction and other machinery. Springs are also used for recreational devices such as trampolines, swings or children’s playground devices. Aside from leading Croatian companies, Spring production Jatić has established a successful cooperation with numerous small manufacturers who need springs in their production process.
“I grew up with this business and it’s a part of who I am. I knew right away that I would take over the business from my father and that’s what I was preparing for. The stereotypes are somewhat reversed so sometimes it may come as a surprise to customers to see a woman doing a what is perceived a men’s business. But I don’t care about that. Plus, I like challenging prejudice. Running a craft is tiresome, but creative at the same time. I enjoy every last bit of the business and I intend to keep developing the business and preserve my family’s tradition”, Alma says.
