It was founded by designer, whittler and engraver Franjo and designer, sketch artist and commercialist Marija Štih. By combining their forces they came up with and made their best known designs. Their children, Edvin and Petra, have continued the family tradition. Edvin started working with his father in 2007, while he’s been representing the craft independently since 2009.
Edvin is an engraver, whittler and designer in charge of the entire production process. Whereas he’s more focused on classic motifs and designs, Petra mostly designs and engraves nature motifs, names and inscriptions according to clients’ wishes.

Their offer includes vases, bowls, ash trays, glasses, chalices, bottles, jugs and other items in different shapes, sizes and design. Personalised wine glasses are among the most sought after products. Clients love to buy them for themselves, but they also make an impressive presents for all kinds of occasions, Petra states. Their items are available in souvenir shops around Croatia, as well as in their production and wholesale centre in Samobor’s Rude.
When it comes to the future, craft SAKI hopes that people will recognise even more just how unique and quality their work is and that their business will keep on moving in the right direction.
“This trade is part of my DNA. It’s been like that my entire life. My brother and I grew up watching our parents in the workshop. The love for this work is what drives me forward and I take every comment personally. What motivates me the most is when people recognise the love that is ‘engraved’ in every product”, Petra explains.
