The competition consisted of five categories with participants coming from Split, Krapina, Popovača, Osijek, Samobor and Dubrovnik. The first category, named

“ Fantazija” (“Phantasy”), was inspired by the Grič Witch. The contestants had twenty minutes to convey the mystical, secret and romantic motives of the Upper Town. The classic Zagreb breakfast at Dolac served as the underlying theme in the „Aranžiranje stola za dvoje“ (“Arranging the Table for Two”) category. The third category required that contestants display originality and creativity while making a „Vjenčani stručak“(“Wedding Bouquet”). That was followed by a „Tema iznenađenja“(“Surprise theme”) which had an intruder plant and the contestants had to identify it and treat it carefully. The last category was the Manduševac-inspired „Slobodni stil stručka“ (“Freestyle Bouquet”) where contestants had to arrange flowers with elements of a pitcher, scarf and gingerbread and, while doing so, show off their creativity and prowess one more time.

The open evaluation, which was done in accordance with FLORINT rules, meant that the judges observed the contestants while they were hard at work. Other things taken into account by the judges were originality, creativity, interpretation of a given theme, selection of material, colour harmony, idea expression using colours, overall impression, form, visual balance, respect of material and technique complexity.

The competition was won by Ana Poklepović from Split, and this fun contest held at Zagreb Fair was moderated by Gordana Munjaković and Rafaela Petrinić.

The superb creations made by florists caught the attention of dazzled visitors of the 2^ndZagreb Crafts Fair of which this competition was part.
